SCYSL 3v3 Soccer Jamboree a Success

On Sunday, October 25th, SCYSL hosted our first U8 play day for all U7 and U8 boys and girls.  SCYSL soccer players were invited to play a series of FUN 3v3 games on small fields.  Referee/Mentors from the Santa Clara Sporting 93 Girls White Team came to support the league and helped supervise the games.  No coaches were permitted, and the parents got to spectate 15 yards of the field.  This allowed the kids to go out and have fun playing soccer and discover for themselves how to play the game. Here is a link to an interesting article on the NSCAA website which gave us the idea to go forward with this event.
We would like to thank Matt Heintz, SCYSL U8 Age Group Coordinator for taking a leadership role to introduce this fun soccer format. In addition to Matt, we want to thank his family Christin and two sons, and Cynthia Bates-Brown, Jim Goularte, John DeJesus and the Santa Clara Sporting ’93 Girls White Team for spending their Sunday afternoon for the kids in our league.
