RESOLUTION 2014-4
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF EL CAMINO HOSPITAL REGARDING RECOGNITION OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of El Camino Hospital values and wishes to recognize the contribution of individuals who enhance the experience of the hospital's patients, their families, the community and the staff, as well as individuals who in their efforts exemplify El Cammo Hospital's mission and values.
WHEREAS, the Board wishes to honor and acknowledge the Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club for their continued support and generosity to provide funds to El Camino Hospital that enable free mammogram screenings for uninsured and under-insured women in the community.
Goals-for-a-Cure, the fundraising program initiated by the soccer club in 2008, raises awareness and money to fight breast cancer through early detection. The winning team of the annual soccer competition presents a donation check to El Camino Hospital, which provides free mammograms to women who need financial assistance. Since 2008, Goals-for-a-Cure has raised and donated over $155,000, and allowed El Camino Hospital to provide mammograms for 600 women in Santa Clara County. These outstanding contributions have recently allowed the Breast Health Center to expand services to provide additional diagnostic screenings such as ultrasound, MRI and biopsy exams to women who require follow up after their initial visit.
This team approach to philanthropy demonstrates the sporting club's passion and devotion to quality, health and service. It is with their continued dedication and support, that El Camino Hospital can provide access to health and prevention resources to those in need in our community.
WHEREAS, the Board would like to commend Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club for their shared vision and commitment to improving the breast health of our community through early detection.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board does formally and unanimously pay tribute to: The Santa Clara Sporting Soccer Club
FOR THEIR COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO ENHANCING PATIENT CARE AND QUALITY FOR THE PATIENTS WE SERVE.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have here unto set my hand this 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 2014.
