It’s that time of year where we are starting to gear up for the fall season, which means that all of us need to plan accordingly. This note is to let you know that I will be scheduling the requisite coaching courses for those in need of the next level coaching licenses. Here is the link to the guidance from the District 2 Coaching Policy, which is mainly geared towards competitive teams.
I have reached out to many of the competitive coaches already who I know are in need of next-level licenses. If you would like to attend a course, please respond back with: your name, team/age group, and the course you would like to attend.
Please note that in order to maximize the value of the courses, participation is key. We generally will not schedule a course if there are only 3 or 4 coaches that can attend. So please let me know no later than Thursday, May 27th of your intent to attend one of the coaching courses. Once I hear from all of you we will determine what courses will be made available here is Santa Clara. We need approximately 10- 15 coaches per class to make the class effective for the instructors.
Classes will be scheduled between late June and mid July so as not to conflict with the upcoming summer tournaments. If the course you need to take is scheduled on a date that you cannot attend, you are welcome to take your course in one of the neighboring leagues. The schedule is posted on the CYSA coaching page that is listed above. Also, you can take the equivalent NSCAA course if that is more convenient for you. Those classes can be found through the following link on the NSCAA website.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions…
