SCYSL is hosting two coaching classes in June. To reserve a spot in class, please email Manny Adame/SCYSL Coaching Director to reserve a spot, then send a check for $35 payable to SCYSL - mail to 340 LaHerran Drive Santa Clara CA 95051 to confirm your reservation. If your check is not received your seat in the class will be given to another coach.
If you require a license above an "E" you will need to take the course outside of Santa Clara. You are also welcome to take the "F" and "E" courses with another league if the confirmed dates in Santa Clara don't work for you. You can find more coaching classes at the District 2 website. Some professional or ex-professional players are asking if they can automatically be granted a higher coaching license and skip the entry level courses, this is being not a CYSA policy. You may now take as many courses within the same year as you want. You may take your F,E,E/D,D all in the same year but must successfully pass one before you can attend the next. - posted 6/11/09
Spring is usually a time when competitive teams hold player tryouts, and SCYSL would like to remind coaches to ensure that ALL players trying-out for any SCYSL and Santa Clara Sporting Teams are covered with insurance. If the player trying-out for your team is currently registered with anther CYSA Team during the 2007-08 Season, that player has proper CYSA insurance coverage. However, if the player is not currently registered with a CYSA Team, the coach is responsible to have the player and parent sign the CYSA Form 1601 – and write “Tryout” on the top of the form. Coaches, you are required to follow this process and if you fail to do so, you put yourself and the league at risk. Download CYSA Form 1601 - posted 4/10/08
