Competitive Soccer Class 1 Boys Teams

Class 1 soccer, also known as select, is for players that have developed a high level of skill and want to compete at the highest level. Tryouts are held to select the players and players compete for starting positions, there is no minimum play time. There can be a significant amount of travel, as Class 1 teams compete throughout the whole year (fall and spring). Our League has both Santa Clara Youth Soccer and Santa Clara Sporting Class 1 teams competing in the CYSA Abronzino Playing League. In addition to playing league games throughout the season, they may also participate in numerous tournaments. Teams are made up of single age groups (age pure) ranging from U9 to U19. All teams are put into one division. These teams can apply to any Class 1 tournaments and the CYSA North State Cup.

Santa Clara Sporting Claim 6 Championship & 4 Finalist Titles at CYSA State Cup

The Santa Clara Sporting Club had a very successful run in the 2009-2010 CYSA Cal-North State Cup Tournament and finished with 6 State Champions and 4 Finalists. Highlights include the first ever girls state championship won by the Sporting 97 Green Girls Team, the first state champioinship victory for our younger U10 teams, and the Sporting 91 Whte Team, and back-to-back state cup championships accomplished by the Sporting 95 Boys, 93 Boys and Sporting 91 Boys Teams. In addition, Sporting had a boys team competing in every age group last weekend for the state cup title from U14 through U19. Read more
